Counselling Services

Many experiences in life make us feel overwhelmed. Perhaps you worry a lot, feel sad or low, are not sleeping well, or have thoughts or feelings you do not like? You may have experienced traumatic events, maybe you have difficult relationships with family members or friends, or you may have experienced childhood trauma. Our experiences can significantly impact our thoughts, beliefs about ourselves and others, feelings, and behaviour. Perhaps you are a parent concerned about your child or teen's behavior, emotional presentation, and social relationships. Or maybe you are concerned about your family and the challenges you are experiencing together. Sometimes, we get stuck and want change; we might want to improve our relationship with ourselves and others. Then I can support you!

I have counselled people from all walks of life with various needs and goals. I practice in a way that is culturally safe and sensitive. You are the expert on you, your culture, your family, and what is important in your life.

I specialize in trauma assessment and treatment and the assessment of prepubescent children with sexual behaviour problems. However, I also work with folks who experience acute stress, are struggling with their identity, or need support to build their resilience. Sometimes, I work with people who want to address a specific challenge they are experiencing, such as managing anxiety or depressive symptoms.

I work with children, youth, and adults, providing individual and family therapy. There are lots of modalities that can be used to help people. In my experience, a collaborative and eclectic approach offers you choices in and control over your therapy. It is important that you have a space of acceptance. I offer a collaborative and eclectic approach to psychotherapy, utilizing different modalities including but not limited to Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Play Based approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Trauma Focused CBT.
