Shiona Robertson, MA, BSW, RP
Shiona Robertson has a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Social Work and is a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO. Shiona has 25 years of experience in the helping profession. She has worked in child welfare services and mental health services, providing support to youth and adults with developmental disabilities. In Scotland, Shiona managed live-in treatment programs. Since moving to Toronto, she has spent the past 15 years providing counselling services to children, youth, and families. Shiona provides trauma assessment and treatment and has completed Geraldine Crisci’s Trauma Assessment and Treatment Certification and the Sexual Behaviour Assessment and Treatment Certification Program. She has been trained in several treatment modalities, including EMDR, and is currently completing training in Stephen Porges Safe Sound Protocol. With a keen interest in relational trauma and attachment, Shiona has a strong commitment to providing treatment that embodies trauma-informed and culturally safe practices. Shiona is an experienced trainer who has delivered training in Scotland and to agencies across Ontario. She also provides consultation and peer supervision to Elementary Day Treatment Programs at Lumenus Community Services in Toronto. She is also a trainer in the TEMA Foundation’s peer support program for first responders and frontline service workers. Shiona is also a full-time Professor at Centennial College in the child and youth care program.
