Consultation and Supervision
Consultation and Supervision

I am an RP with over 20 years of experience in the helping profession. I have completed over 40 hours of clinical supervision training (so far). My experience as a supervisor began in Live-In Treatment. My supervisory style is integrative and developmental; I meet those I supervise where they are in terms of personal and professional development. As you grow, your supervision style changes to match your needs.

I have experience providing consultation and supervision to individuals, groups, and programs. Please check my bio and counselling page for more information about my theoretical orientations. I have extensive experience working with people with complex needs, including dual diagnosis, Intellectual Disabilities, children's mental health, and creating trauma-informed milieu programs. I have also worked closely with child welfare systems and family courts. I have worked with children, youth, and adults presenting with complex and developmental trauma.

My front-line experience working in and managing therapeutic milieu services affords me a unique perspective of combining theory into practical and effective strategies. In consultation, my trauma and attachment-informed approach is influenced by the work of Dr. Bruce Perry, Dan Hughes, Dan Siegel, Stephen Porges, Stuart Abalon, and Allan Schore.

Individual Supervision
Finding a supervisor is similar to finding a therapist...you need to feel comfortable with that person. Develop a professional relationship grounded in trust, respect, and compassion. Initially, I was focused on the developmental supervision model; however, I have subscribed to an integrated approach over the years. I believe in meeting people where they are at, identifying strengths, and enhancing your capacity to grow as a therapist. This may require me to take multiple roles in supervision: consultant, counsellor, and teacher.

I am trained in clinical supervision and encourage reflexive and reflective practice. I have approximately 18 years of experience in providing supervision; this includes time spent as a manager of live-in treatment programs, whereby I supervised a staff team.

I have experience supervising students in field placement at a College Diploma and Master's in Counselling Psychology level. At the moment, I only offer external supervision to placement students.

Fees: $150 per hour for Professionals; Sliding scale for students and new professionals.
